Joshua 18:5
And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north. And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north.
Gilgal had ceased to be the headquarters of the nation when the tabernacle was removed to its permanent location at Shiloh. Shiloh was a little town in the lot of Ephraim, situated near the center of the land and easy of access to all the tribes. The country around it had been thoroughly subdued, so that worshipers coming there would not be molested.
At Shiloh the whole congregation assembled and set up the tabernacle. The tribes that were still encamped when it was removed from Gilgal followed it, pitched near Shiloh, and remained there until they dispersed to their possessions. The land was to be divided into seven parts for those dispersing tribes, while Judah would abide in its coast on the south and the house of Joseph would abide in its coasts on the north.
