Joshua 19:13
And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittah-hepher, to Ittah-kazin, and goeth out to Remmon-methoar to Neah; And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittah-hepher, to Ittah-kazin, and goeth out to Remmon-methoar to Neah;
Joshua 19:13 belongs to the account of the portion given to the tribe of Zebulun in the dividing of Canaan, tracing its towns and the course of its boundary line. It stands within the larger boundary description for Zebulun, marking how that tribe's inheritance was laid out among the other tribal allotments.
The verse locates Gittah-hepher, also called Gath-Hepher, on the edge of the land apportioned to Zebulun. That border district lies in the country stretching between Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee.
Zebulun was one of the tribal territories embraced in Galilee, together with the districts appointed to Asher, Naphtali, and Issachar. Those tribes did not take full possession of their assigned lands, but dwelt among the Canaanites, at times reducing them to tribute instead of driving them out.
The verse also shows what is meant by a lot, namely a portion or division allotted to a person. Such a lot is not finally a matter of chance, but a determination fixed by providence.
