Joshua 19:14

And the border compasseth it on the north side to Hannathon: and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthah-el:

Joshua 19:14 belongs to the account of the distribution of the land of Canaan among the tribes, a record founded on written documents that accurately described the properties. It gives part of the northern boundary of the territory allotted to Zebulun, running to Hannathon on the north and ending in the valley of Jiphthah-el. The boundary is compassed on the north side to Hannathon, with its outgoings in the valley of Jiphthah-el as the endpoint of that line.

The landmarks named help identify the territory assigned to Zebulun as one of the tribal districts included in Galilee. The country lying between Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee belonged to Zebulun. The allotment is an example of a lot assigning a portion of land, where a lot is the part or share determined by providence rather than ultimately by chance.
