Joshua 2:10

For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.

Joshua 2:10 records what had been heard in Jericho and in Canaan before Israel arrived, that the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for Israel when they came out of Egypt, and that Israel utterly destroyed Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites on the other side of Jordan. News of the Lord's deliverance through the Red Sea and of the victories over Sihon and Og had reached Jericho and was known beyond Israel, even to Rahab. These reports of the Lord's acts had spread and made the inhabitants afraid before Israel came. They confirmed that the Lord was giving Israel the land.

Rahab's response to this news exemplifies a Canaanite turning from idolatry to the worship of the true God and joining Israel, God's people. Her example shows that people from other nations were welcome to unite with God's chosen people, since Israel was meant to reveal God's character and draw people to Him.
