Joshua 20:7
And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in mount Naphtali, and Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Kirjath-arba, which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah. And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in mount Naphtali, and Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Kirjath-arba, which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah.
Under the Jewish dispensation the way to the cities of refuge appointed here was clearly defined. The road was made plain so that the traveler fleeing for safety could reach it without perplexity or hardship. That plainly marked road to safety shows how clearly the way to happiness and life is marked. It is the way of willing obedience to the Creator, set in contrast to the path of disobedience that leads to misery and death.
