Joshua 3:8
And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan. And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan.
The priests who bore the ark of the covenant were commanded to advance to the brink of the Jordan and then take their stand still within its bed. As the ark approached the river, Christ himself with heavenly angels went on before it. The waters of the Jordan were cut off before the presence of Christ. Christ and the angels then remained beside the ark and beside the priests standing in the river until the whole of Israel had passed over to the other side.
