Joshua Calls Israel at the Jordan Riverby GrahamWeir

Joshua 3:9

And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God.

Joshua's call to come near and hear the words of the Lord their God belongs to Israel's preparation to cross the Jordan into the promised land. The account was preserved with its lessons in God's guidance for later generations to remember and study. As the ark went before Israel at the crossing, Christ and heavenly angels accompanied it. The waters were cut off before Christ, and Christ with the angels remained with the ark and the priests in the riverbed until all Israel had crossed over.
