Judges 1:15
And she said unto him, Give me a blessing: for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs. And she said unto him, Give me a blessing: for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs.
The verse stands in the introduction to the book of Judges. That introduction shows that Israel had not yet possessed all of the country. The chapter belongs to Israel's new period of freedom and national life. In that period the people could choose obedience or self-will.
