Judges 11:25

Jephthah was raised up to deliver Israel from the Ammonites after they had oppressed the nation for eighteen years. The question to the Ammonite king belongs to his message and negotiation before that deliverance, as he confronted their claims against Israel. His subsequent war against them broke their strength and ended their power over Israel.
