Judges 12:2
And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands. And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands.
Jephthah declared that he and his people were in severe conflict with the children of Ammon. When he called the people of Gilead for help, they did not rescue him out of the hands of the Ammonites. The declaration belongs to the account of his struggle amid Israel's troubled conditions in the period of the judges. That account is the record of the wonderful victory God wrought for His people through Jephthah over the Ammonites during the fearfully checkered time of the judges.
