Judges 13:15
And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee. And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee.
The verse belongs to the second appearance of the Angel of Jehovah to Manoah of the tribe of Dan at Zorah, coming after Manoah prayed for the man of God to come again to teach him and his childless wife what they should do for the promised son through whom God would begin to deliver Israel from the Philistines. At that meeting Manoah asked how the child should be ordered, and the Angel repeated that the mother must beware and avoid wine and strong drink and anything coming from the vine and any unclean thing, and that the child must be consecrated to God as a Nazarite from birth whose hair was not to be cut. In the verse itself Manoah asks the angel to remain while a young goat is made ready for him. The account to which the verse belongs shows that God employs angels to communicate with human beings. The broader chapter shows that God designed Samson to accomplish a great work for Israel, so that from the very outset of his life the utmost care was taken to surround him with the most favorable conditions for physical strength, intellectual vigor, and moral purity.
