Judges 14:17

And she wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted: and it came to pass on the seventh day, that he told her, because she lay sore upon him: and she told the riddle to the children of her people.

Judges 14:17 falls within the account of Samson's marriage to a Philistine woman. That marriage joined him to the enemies of Israel. It grew from a self-pleasing choice. He yielded to temptation instead of relying on God's strength and ruling his passions by reason and the fear of God. His association with idolaters corrupted him and darkened his life. That course began his path toward shame, disaster, and death.

Samson gave passion free rein, while Joseph when faced with temptation chose purity and integrity. Both men faced temptation and could choose right or wrong.
