Judges 14:3
Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.
His God-fearing parents opposed his intent to marry a Philistine woman, urging him instead to choose a wife from among the daughters of his own brethren and people rather than from among the uncircumcised Philistines outside Israel. He overruled their objection and warning, demanding that his father get her for him because she pleased him well. His decision was governed by personal desire and passion ruling him, rather than by seeking to honor God and by exercising self-control and obedience to Him. His parents eventually yielded to his wishes and let him have his way.
His association with idolaters through this marriage corrupted him and darkened his life. That self-willed, passion-driven choice set him on a path leading toward shame and disaster and finally death.
