Judges 2:18
And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.
The passage stands within the record in Judges 2 of revivals that took place among God's ancient people from time to time. Their sins had brought them to defeat and weakness before He delivered them. When they cried to Him in affliction, He heard their groanings and raised up a ruler to deliver them from their enemies, answering their suffering with rescue. All who name the name of Christ should read this record carefully and with an understanding heart, searching their own hearts whether they are in the faith.
