The Angel of the LORD Rebukes Israel at Bochimby emmanuel_higgins

Judges 2:5

And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there unto the LORD.

Judges 2 preserves the record of one of the revivals that came from time to time among God's ancient people. The spot received the name Bochim because the people wept there under the Lord's rebuke, and there they presented sacrifices to the Lord. Those sacrifices possessed worth because they were joined to genuine repentance.

In that repentance they confessed their sins both to God and to one another, Christ's grace operated upon their hearts, and God granted them forgiveness. All who name the name of Christ are to take their Bibles and read that account carefully and with an understanding heart, examining their own hearts to see whether they are in the faith.
