Judges 3:25

And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.

The verse stands in the record of Israel's experiences in the time covered by the book of Judges. That time lies between the death of Joshua and the raising up of Samuel. Within that time it belongs to the account of God leaving Canaanites in the land to test the younger Israelites. Their character was to develop through the effort of overcoming difficulties.
