Judges 3:29
And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man. And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man.
The verse stands in the larger record of Israel's backsliding, the suffering and oppression that followed it, and God's forgiveness and deliverance. Within that pattern it belongs more particularly to the deliverance from Moabite oppression accomplished through the judge Ehud. At that time Israel struck down about ten thousand men of Moab, every one strong and valiant, so completely that not a single man escaped. The term rendered lusty means strong, and to turn it into devilish distorts the wording; the verse does not call the Moabites devils nor set forth different kinds of devils.
