Judges 8:11

And Gideon went up by the way of them that dwelt in tents on the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and smote the host: for the host was secure.

The verse belongs to the account of Gideon's deliverance of Israel from Midianite oppression. That deliverance came after seven years of Midianite raids, and after the people confessed their sins God raised up a helper for them. In that account Gideon stands as an example of the faithful and valiant deliverers God raised up to put down idolatry and rescue the Israelites. The verse shows him pursuing the Midianite force and striking it while it still felt secure. That pursuit ended with the enemy scattered and its leaders Zebah and Zalmunna captured and slain.
