Judges 8:14
And caught a young man of the men of Succoth, and enquired of him: and he described unto him the princes of Succoth, and the elders thereof, even threescore and seventeen men. And caught a young man of the men of Succoth, and enquired of him: and he described unto him the princes of Succoth, and the elders thereof, even threescore and seventeen men.
The verse stands within the account of God raising up Gideon to deliver Israel and set the people free from their enemies. That deliverance answered seven years of suffering under Midianite oppression, which had brought the people to confess their sin. It was one of the occasions on which God raised up a faithful and valiant leader both to put down idolatry and to free the people.
