Judges 8:15

And he came unto the men of Succoth, and said, Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, with whom ye did upbraid me, saying, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thine hand, that we should give bread unto thy men that are weary?

Judges 8:15 stands within the recurring cycle in which Israel fell into idolatry, suffered oppression, and was rescued by a leader raised up for that purpose. In this instance the oppressors were the Midianites, and it was Israel's distress and confession that led to a helper being raised up to effect deliverance. That helper was Gideon, a faithful and valiant deliverer raised up to free Israel from its enemies.
