Leviticus 13:47

The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it be a woollen garment, or a linen garment;

The verse names woolen garments and linen garments as materials in which a leprosy-like plague could appear. A garment under suspicion for such a plague was to be inspected by the priest, and if the plague spread through the cloth or leather it was pronounced unclean and burned. Destroying a garment with spreading contamination shows that uncleanness in clothing was regarded as a serious danger demanding thorough action.
