Leviticus 14:34
When ye be come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession; When ye be come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession;
The command was given to Moses as special direction concerning houses in the land of Israel to be occupied after arrival in Canaan. That land was granted as a possession, held by divine gift rather than by mere human acquisition. The provision belonged to a larger body of instruction governing order and cleanliness. Such instruction extended to matters connected with divine service, showing that outward arrangement and purity were not left to chance.
