Leviticus 15:12
And the vessel of earth, that he toucheth which hath the issue, shall be broken: and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water. And the vessel of earth, that he toucheth which hath the issue, shall be broken: and every vessel of wood shall be rinsed in water.
Objects touched by a person with a contaminating discharge were treated as unclean. An earthen vessel so touched was to be broken, while a wooden vessel so touched was to be rinsed in water. This requirement was part of thorough precautions against contamination to prevent disease.
