Leviticus 17:4
And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:
The verse positively commands that no sacrifice should be offered except at the door of the tabernacle. To erect another altar for sacrifice and worship apart from the tabernacle at Shiloh is rebellion against the Lord and departing from God. Such rebellion brings the wrath of God upon the whole nation. Therefore those dwelling at a distance must either abide without such an altar where they are or be welcomed to a share in the possessions and privileges of their brethren on the other side rather than disobey.
