Leviticus 18:25
And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
The detestable practices of the Canaanites polluted the very land in which they lived. That pollution brought divine reckoning, for God visited the guilt of the land upon the land itself. The judgment took the form of expulsion, with the defiled land casting out its inhabitants. The same principle warns God's own people that rebellion and transgression are not overlooked in them. By such a course they can become as abhorrent in His sight as the Canaanites were.
