Leviticus 18:26

Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:

The command lays the same obligation on both the native-born Israelite and the foreigner residing among them, to keep God's statutes and judgments and to commit none of the abominations listed around it. Its background is given in the next verse, that the people who were in the land before Israel had committed all these practices and by them had defiled the land. This means God's people were not to join in the abominable practices of other peoples. Applied, that principle calls God's people to refuse dependence on those who do not serve God. The warning implies that if God's people yield to rebellion and leave evil unovercome in themselves, they become as abhorrent to Him as the Canaanites were.
