The Burnt, Grain, Peace and Sin Offeringsby KalebRosendahl

Leviticus 2:4

And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.

In this verse the word meat does not denote animal flesh but food in general. The offering it prescribes is prepared from fine flour mingled with oil and baked in the oven as unleavened cakes, or as unleavened wafers anointed with oil. No animal flesh enters its composition, so the name meat offering here embraces an offering made wholly of flour and oil.
