Leviticus 23:19
Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings. Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings.
This requirement of a kid of the goats for a sin offering and two yearling lambs for peace offerings belongs to the appointed offerings for Pentecost. That festival falls fifty days after the offering of firstfruits. It is also called the feast of harvest and the feast of weeks.
It is an expression of gratitude for grain made ready as food for people. At that time two loaves baked with leaven are presented before God. The observance occupies only one day, and that day is set apart for religious service.
