Leviticus 25:45

Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.

This text is part of the divine instruction given in Leviticus. That instruction stands connected with the seventh-year rest appointed for the land. In that rest year the spontaneous growth of the land was made available to the poor, to strangers, and to livestock. The rest of the land taught that God owned the land and the people were only His tenants.
