Leviticus 3:14

And he shall offer thereof his offering, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,

Leviticus 3:14 stands within the ceremonial directions that governed the sacrificial offerings, specifically as part of the instructions for the peace offering. The offering was brought into the presence of the Lord with prayer seeking its acceptance and His blessing. The portion set apart for the people was then blessed before they partook together in a sacred feast.

That sacrificial system was appointed to represent the ministry and death of Christ. It pointed forward to the Savior who would take upon Himself the sins of the world and die to redeem it. The sacrifices were therefore not meaningless outward forms. The offering and its accompanying feast were intended to foster sincere devotion and spiritual good, along with kindness and sympathy, rather than to degenerate into empty ceremony or self-gratification.
