Leviticus 3:7

If he offer a lamb for his offering, then shall he offer it before the LORD.

Leviticus 3:7 belongs to the directions for sacrificial offerings, a system given by Christ to teach about the sacrifices. The lamb in the verse is a peace offering that was presented before the Lord. The sacrifices pointed to a coming Savior who would bear the sins of the world and die for its redemption. They were not a meaningless outward form, but represented His ministry and death.

The offering was accompanied by prayer for acceptance and blessing. The people shared in the portion reserved for them at a sacred feast. When properly conducted, these services encouraged true devotion, piety, kindness, and sympathy rather than empty ceremony or self-gratification.
