Leviticus 4:19

And he shall take all his fat from him, and burn it upon the altar.

When the sin offering was for a priest or for the whole congregation, all the fat was removed from the victim and burned upon the altar of burnt offering in the court. In that same offering the blood was carried into the holy place and the body was burned outside the camp.

The sin offering belongs among God's imperative claims beyond the tithe. It calls the offerer to return to God a valuable gift proportioned to the capital entrusted to him, so that greater possessions require a larger and more valuable return. This requirement was systematic and regular, laid upon all people and not upon a particular class. It was marked by the sanctification of property, keeping God's claims paramount and reminding the giver of the Giver in almost every article. These drafts were made by God for the people's own good as well as to sustain His service.
