Leviticus 6:2
If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour; If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour;
Any sin committed by deceiving or wronging a neighbor is a trespass against the Lord. Injury done to another person is therefore guilt before God, not only an offense between people. Spreading suspicion and distrust breaks this law. Whoever has done so must change conduct and make restitution, including bringing a trespass offering.
