Leviticus 7:10

And every meat offering, mingled with oil, and dry, shall all the sons of Aaron have, one as much as another.

Leviticus 7:10 stands within the laws and instructions concerning sacrifices and offerings found in the first seven chapters of Leviticus, which set forth the different kinds of particular, individual offerings. It belongs to the ceremonial law, which was instituted in consequence of sin. The offerings it regulates were those brought by the people during the year as part of the priests' regular service in the earthly sanctuary, which gave instruction about God's way.

When such an individual offering was presented in faith, the sins of the penitent were transferred in figure through the blood of the sacrifice or through the person of the priest to the sanctuary. There the forgiven sins were left before the ark through the year until they were removed on the tenth day of the seventh month. The details of these sacrificial instructions had symbolic meaning, and their fuller meaning is found in the sacrifice, life, and work of Jesus Christ. The earthly sanctuary service they describe serves as a type that helps explain His priestly ministry in the heavenly sanctuary.
