Leviticus 7:24

And the fat of the beast that dieth of itself, and the fat of that which is torn with beasts, may be used in any other use: but ye shall in no wise eat of it.

The prohibition covers the fat of animals, with explicit inclusion of the fat of a beast that dies of itself and of one torn by other beasts. That fat is not to be eaten at all, yet it is permitted to be put to any other use besides eating. The same restriction extends to blood, so that neither fat nor blood is to be taken as food. To eat fat and blood as food is to disregard divine directions concerning diet. Such eating injures the body, producing diseased blood and contributing to other forms of illness.
