And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
The verse is the angel's announcement to Mary at Nazareth that she would conceive in her womb and bring forth a son and call His name Jesus. That conception and birth were a miraculous act of God, accomplished by the Holy Ghost and not an ordinary human birth. The announcement identifies the child to be born as the Son of the Highest and the Son of God, thus joining His birth to His divine identity.
In fulfillment of that announcement He took human nature. In that human nature He was truly tempted. Yet He was holy, with no evil propensity and no inclination to corruption.
He is the promised ruler entitled to David's throne, which God gives Him, and His kingdom will have no end. This fulfills the promise that the throne would remain overturned until the rightful ruler came, and His kingdom is established at the end of this world, in the world to come. Mary treasured this announcement at Nazareth together with the evidence in Jesus' life that He was the Messiah, the Sent of God.
