The people of Nineveh repented when Jonah preached to them. Among the generation that heard Christ was One greater than Jonah, Christ Himself, yet that generation rejected His preaching. Because they repented at Jonah's preaching while that generation rejected the greater preaching present among them, the men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with that generation and condemn it.
The repentant Ninevites will stand in the judgment as witnesses against all who reject greater light. Those who hear the gospel and yet remain impenitent will be condemned according to the light they received but did not accept. By that repentance their rejection of salvation is made inexcusable.
