Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sightby emmanuel_higgins

Luke 18:35

And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:

The scene takes place as Jesus comes near to Jericho, where a blind man sits beside the road begging. The blind man is Bartimeus, who cries out to Jesus as the Son of David for mercy. His appeal stands as an example of faith in Jesus as the great Physician and of trusting Him for healing. When Jesus passes by, people are to call earnestly to Him for mercy, and through God's grace they may receive clearer spiritual sight. That spiritual sight is more valuable than gold and silver and precious stones. His cry also represents the oppressed people of God raising a united and persistent cry to heaven for deliverance in the closing scenes of the church's history.
