Luke 18:43
And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
The restoration was immediate, with sight given at once to the blind man. The one healed followed after Jesus glorifying God, and all the people who witnessed the sight gave praise to God. When Jesus of Nazareth passes by He brings a blessing that must not be allowed to pass unreceived, and those who receive it glorify God's name.
The healing of blind Bartimaeus stands as the pattern for bringing a need to Jesus in faith and receiving God's healing power, even to the point of trusting God for a husband's complete restoration. It also pictures the receiving of clearer spiritual sight through God's grace by one who earnestly seeks Jesus for mercy. For God's commandment-keeping people, receiving this blessing means walking humbly before Him and coming down from self-exaltation. It means seeking the Lord with all heart and soul and strength and mind, searching the heart, and putting in order the things that should have been put in order, thus preparing the way for the King.
