Luke 2:21
And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
At eight days old He was subjected to the rite of circumcision as a pledge of His own obedience to the law, for as humanity's substitute He had to conform to the Jewish law in every particular. That early act belongs to the infancy account in which the offerings presented to the Lord had to be without blemish because they represented Christ. He Himself was free from physical deformity, possessing a strong and healthy body marred by no defect. Throughout His lifetime He lived in conformity to nature's laws, and thus physically as well as spiritually He is an example of what God designed all humanity to become through obedience to His laws.
