Jesus Raises the Widow's Son at Nainby emmanuel_higgins

Luke 7:16

And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

The verse describes the response after Jesus raised the widow of Nain's only son to life. The crowd that witnessed it responded with reverent fear, as if standing in God's presence, and glorified and praised God. They recognized Jesus as a great prophet risen up among them and understood the miracle as God visiting His people. News of Him then spread through Judea and the surrounding region.

The return of the son to his mother revealed Jesus' compassion for a mother's sorrow, showing that He is touched by mothers' grief. Christ's raising of the dead in His earthly ministry points to His return, when His voice will call the dead in Christ from their tombs to immortal life. He gives comfort and help in every grief and need.
