Jesus Welcomed by the Crowd at the Shoreby CBPepper

Luke 8:40

And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

When Jesus returned across the sea with His disciples, a great crowd was waiting to receive Him. The waiting people gladly received Him and welcomed Him with much joy. News of His coming had spread abroad and been noised abroad, drawing people together in great numbers to listen to His teaching. The crowd included people of every social rank, rich and poor, high and low, including Pharisees, doctors, lawyers, and other religious leaders and teachers, all anxious to hear His words and witness His miracles. Many sick and variously afflicted people were also present, entreating His mercy for healing.

After this welcome He set out with Jairus to heal his daughter. The people followed eagerly. The journey was slowed by the crowd and by His stopping to help and comfort people.
