Malachi 2:11
Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god. Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.
Judah acted with treachery by desecrating the sacred holiness of the Lord that He cherished. The wrong was not merely personal unfaithfulness but a profaning of what belonged to God and was loved by Him. The abomination done in Israel and in Jerusalem consisted in wedding the daughter of a foreign god. That meant entering marriage union with worshipers of false gods, and by that union breaking covenant loyalty to God.
