Malachi 2:3

The warning is directed to priests who refuse to listen to God's command and give honor to His name, whose blessings will be turned into a curse. Their seed will be corrupted, and disgrace will be spread upon their faces, even the filth of their solemn feasts. They will be taken away with that filth, carried off in shame for their unfaithfulness. Merely professing to belong to God does not satisfy what is required, for His people must reveal the power and purity of the gospel in good works. Their conduct determines how others judge Bible religion, so a lifeless profession brings reproach upon the truth they claim.
