Mark 15:40
There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
Several women watched Jesus as He died from a distance, among them Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome, with other women also present. They had followed Him in Galilee and had accompanied Him up to Jerusalem. There they had learned from Him and had ministered to Him and served Him.
They remained with Him through the crucifixion and afterward stayed by His tomb grieving as evening fell. Mary Magdalene followed Him to the tomb and became the first to proclaim that He had risen.
