Jesus Beside the Dead Daughter of Jairusby CBPepper
5:37Mark 5:37
And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
Jesus suffered no one else to follow Him except Peter and James and John the brother of James into the room where Jairus's daughter lay dead. He required the crowd to leave and sent out the mourners and kept other people out, admitting only those three disciples together with the child's father and mother. That restricted company alone was present in Jairus's home and witnessed Him restore the girl from death to life.
This raising was one of His ministry raisings to mortal life, standing alongside the son of the widow of Nain and Lazarus. The ruler's daughter was not clothed with immortality but was restored to mortal life, and her restoration was temporary. She remained subject to death and decay, unlike the saints who were raised when Christ rose.
Those who came forth from the grave at Christ's own resurrection were raised to everlasting life. They will nevermore see death nor experience sorrow.
