Jesus Heals the Blind Man at Bethsaidaby emmanuel_higgins

Mark 8:22

And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.

At Bethsaida a blind man was brought to Jesus by others who pleaded that he would touch him. That touch began a healing completed in two distinct stages rather than all at once. The first touch restored sight only in part, leaving vision incomplete, and then Jesus touched his eyes a second time so that he could see clearly. The two-stage healing illustrates the work still needed in the church. There people shut in by unbelief remain spiritually blind, stumble in darkness, and refuse the light because it would expose their deeds.
