Matthew 16:8
Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
Jesus perceived the disciples reasoning anxiously among themselves because they had brought no bread and rebuked them for little faith. Their worry showed unbelief, for they had already seen Him feed a multitude yet did not trust His power to provide again. Their reaction was also shaped by Jewish prejudice against the Gentile crowd.
The rebuke still confronts His people, whose hearts need to be worked by the Holy Spirit to believe the Lord wants them to come to Him just as they are without delay and call on Him in faith to work for them. The verse calls for the Lord to manifest His power by multiplying workers, so that where one is at work there should be more than a thousand men and women of faith and prayer, not ordained ministers, laboring without wages and sent forward without waiting for money, trusting that God lives and reigns and will provide means. The charge of little faith applies to brethren who lost time in carrying forward sanitarium work.
