Micah 1:15

Yet will I bring an heir unto thee, O inhabitant of Mareshah: he shall come unto Adullam the glory of Israel.

Micah delivered this warning to Israel and Judah in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, as a younger contemporary of Isaiah who saw the social wrongs of his age and sympathized with the common people. His message was one of wrath and warning called forth by the sins of the house of Israel and the transgressions of Jacob. Because of that guilt Jehovah comes forth out of His place amid awful convulsions of nature in judgment.

The verse stands in the first division of the prophecy, in chapters 1 and 2, which begins with Hear. That division moves from rebukes and threatenings for guilt of sin into promise of blessing. In vision village after village is destroyed, Samaria goes down, and desolation comes to the very gates of Jerusalem, including Mareshah and Adullam. Because of Israel's sins Zion is to be plowed as a field and Jerusalem is to become heaps.
