Micah 4:4
But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it. But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.
Every person sitting under his own vine and under his own fig tree, with none to make afraid, portrays peace and security in a peaceful, independent home life free from hindrance. It is the condition of being settled once more at one's own home after being away, returning as soon as possible to sit in that peace and security. That secure home life includes being supported in retirement so as to keep the Sabbath without fear of employers.
The same sitting under one's vine and fig tree denotes being content at ease. That ease stands in contrast to the duty of Christ's followers, who are not to remain at ease but to serve, to make openings for work, and to share the light they have received.
